7 Effective Ways To Get Rid Of Burn Scar

Ways To Get Rid Of Burn Scar

Burn scars are not only ugly to look at, but very often they can be heart-breaking reminders of burn accidents that could have taken place in the past. A scar is something that never lets us forget those unpleasant instances in our lives, even though the physical pain and inconvenience may have been over a long time. Scars from a burn result after the particular area of the skin heals and this results in darker coloured skin, as compared to our normal skin tone. Not only are these areas of our skin darker, they are also usually rough and crinkled. The skin in these places is comparatively thicker than the other skin on our body.

The conventional ways of eliminating scars usually involve cosmetic surgery and the flip side of this procedure is that it is not only complicated, but also painful and expensive. Due to these factors, people normally prefer to live with these ugly, unsightly scars. But there is another remedy for scars that does in no way involve surgery. Such natural remedies involve employing the use of nature’s freely available solutions.

Honey

Honey is a powerful beauty aid. Not only does it do the job of moisturizing your skin and adding a glow to it, honey also aids the speedy fading of burn scars as it has the ability to cause the scar tissue’s steady breakdown, thus leading it to fade away slowly, with repeated, regular use.

The ideal way of putting honey to use for scars, is to massage it gently into the scar and keep doing so for a few minutes. After doing that, the area can be left untouched for a while and then the honey can be washed off. The procedure can be repeated frequently during the day. At night, honey can again be massaged into the skin and left on overnight, to be rinsed off the next morning.

Lemon Juice and Egg Whites

A pack made out of these two ingredients is greatly beneficial in the treatment of burn scars. Blend the juice of a fresh lemon, with the white of an egg and apply this with gentle massaging movements, into the affected scarred area of your skin. After you’re done massaging, leave the pack to dry and rinse off after that. Repeat as often as desired. Lemon juice serves the purpose of lightening and smoothing the skin, while the egg white helps to firm up the skin.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is very useful in lightening burn scars. Externally, it can be used by grinding a vitamin C tablet to a powder and mixing it with other skin-friendly products such as Aloe Vera or Honey. This paste needs to be applied on the affected skin and gently rubbed in, with circular movements. Regular use shows remarkable results.

The reason Vitamin C is so effective in scar treatments is that it is not only a powerful antioxidant, but also a promoter of collagen production. Collagen helps to keep your skin looking filled out. Vitamin C also promotes elastin production. Elastin, as the name suggests, provides elasticity to the skin. Both these are needed by the skin for its repair and renewal.

Coconut oil has a host of benefits for the entire body, be it hair health, skin health or dietary health. One of its numerous applications is in the lightening of scars, particularly those caused from burns. Coconut oil can be used as massaging oil by itself, or it can be used together with other ingredients such as banana pulp or any off the counter products too. Its noticeable reaction on scar tissue, resulting in its gradual but steady lightening is rather noteworthy, leading to it being often touted as the best available natural remedy for burn scars and other scars as well.

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil is of great value in the treatment of burns and their scars. The oil of Vitamin E is charged with the ability to make your burns heal faster and has the property of preventing and treating scar marks. Being an excellent ointment, Vitamin E is effective not only on new scars but also on the old ones! One can use an ointment that contains this vitamin or this can alternatively be substituted by the use of a vitamin E capsule.

Clean the skin’s surface well and follow it up by either using the vitamin ointment or by pricking the vitamin capsule and then using the oil from there. Spread with a sterilized cotton ball and leave on for a few hours before washing off. The results are very highly satisfying!

Cilantro Juice

Cilantro is a very valuable herb, used in the treatment of a wide spectrum of ailments. It is power packed with essential vitamins, minerals and much more. When ingested, cilantro juice helps to maintain all-round health and is thus widely recommended by health experts around the world. When used topically, cilantro juice has been found to be an effective solution for those battling with burn scars. One of its natural properties is that it causes the scarred skin to naturally lighten and smooth out. It helps in cooling down the skin, which provides added relief.

Cod Liver Oil

Cod Liver Oil is greatly used to ensure all round health. The main reason for this being that it strengthens the liver. The liver in turn breaks down and eliminates harmful toxins from the human body. A regular intake of cod liver oil will keep scars from developing too. For scars that you might already have, cod liver oil can not only be taken internally, but can also be used as a topical ointment.

You can mix it with Chamomile Tea, which is a very beneficial herbal tea. Mix some cod liver oil with sufficient amounts of brewed chamomile tea and use this on the affected skin. Dip a soft, clean cloth into the liquid and leave it on the scar for a while, like in a compress. You will find a marked improvement in the scars.
